Medically certified
true convection vaporizer®
for dry-herbs

The administration of medicinal herbs, in particular medical marijuana, is not yet standardised and medically acceptable administration device is not commercially available yet. Our aim is to create the first medically certified true convection® dry-herb inhaler, In-Heal, a standardised administration device for medical herbs.

Public interest towards natural medicine, in particular to phytotherapy, is increasing. Several medicinal herbs include volatile pharmaceutically active compounds known as alkaloids, which can be taken after evaporation of the herb.

Our solution

Keeping usability and easy maintenance in mind we have divided the appliance in two main parts. The upper cylindrical part contains the convection chamber, capillary system and the interchangable mouthpiece. Our convection chamber was designed in such ways, that it would support multiple variations of herbs or herb products ranging from the natural dryed form through pastilles and even hapac® packs.

The lower part encloses our control systems and charging system as well as the interchangable battery pack.

Technological innovation

  • Vaporising dry herbs directly
  • Efficient and precise dosing
  • Standardised cartridge system
  • Innovative capillary system
  • Tasteless or taintless dose
  • Smartphone application (via Bluetooth®)
  • Cloud based health information platform
  • Sharing of data and experiences between patients and medical professionals
  • Monitoring of the administration

The system is a fully controllable, small and easy-to-use device for inhalation of medicinal herbs (including but not limited to medical marijuana). Our device enables safe, efficient and very precise dosing of active ingredients. In-Heal utilises a combustion-less vaporisation technology; and it is a smart device that uses sophisticated control technology based on  airflow and temperature sensors. This innovative technical solution offers a possibility to inhale medical herb vapour at precisely controllable low temperature and airflow rate. In our system, the active ingredients of herbs are not degraded, as not burned.

Low temperature vaporising is the most effective technology to administer active ingredients from herbs without carcinogenic by-products formed during burning. There are several evaporators on the market. These systems use either conductive heating or conventional heating. Our innovative technology applies controlled combination of both technologies, exploiting the advantages of both solutions. In our hybrid technology the heat source is designed to be convectional, however, the chamber that holds the herb and warms it up during the usage and becomes very shortly conductive as well on a precisely controlled chamber temperature.

Furthermore, In-Heal technology, apps and cloud-based health information platform address the numerous issues with currently available methods of cannabis delivery establishing a data-driven standard of care and cutting edge vaporizers for the cannabis industry. In-Heal is able to provide rich data that can be used to track and analyse its usage. The app helps consumers track consumption, strain type, time and frequency of dosing, and symptom relief effectiveness. This has a dual significance. Firstly, it enables quick and easy sharing of data and experiences between patients and medical professionals (e.g. in case of a clinical study). This can serve as feedback to medical professionals and contribute to a better approximation of optimal dosage for patients with similar conditions. Secondly, it enables monitoring of the administration of the medication to prevent substance misuse or abuse.
